About the NAGC

The National Association for Gifted Children is the specialist charity that helps gifted and talented children and young people better understand their abilities. NAGC has over 38 years experience of supporting families and schools to understand and cater for the academic, social and emotional needs of highly able children.

About Explorers Groups

Explorers activities give these children an opportunity to meet together with like-minded young people, to explore issues and subjects of interest to them and to develop important life skills. NAGC Explorers Clubs are happy to accept children who have difficulties expressing their giftedness, such as those with dyslexia or dyspraxia. NAGC welcomes all families who feel that they can benefit from the activites provided by clubs.

As well as a welcoming environment for the young people, local branches provide support and reassurance to the whole family.

How to Support your Club

There are many ways to support your club. Here are a few: setting up and tidying away, refreshments, donating games and information, presenting activities, helping find activities, helping find or organise special events.

Share your hobbies and interests.

It's fun, we need you. Please join in. It's your club.

Any comments and suggestions about the web site?

Herts Explorers has a committee supported by club members and helpers. We rely on our members to keep the club successful. Please be prepared to help at every session. In particular, we welcome (and always value) offers to organise, join the committee and run activities.

Meetings Location

Unless on a field trip, we meet at St Teresa's RC Primary School, Brook Road, Borehamwood WD6 5HL

Please do NOT contact the school about our meetings.

How to get there

From A1(M) between M25 and Apex Corner, take the Borehamwood slip road. Go into Borehamwood. At the 3rd roundabout (after the swimming pool), turn right into Brook Road. The school and a large car park are on the right. For the safety of all our children, please use the municipal car park (P) next to the school, free on Sundays. (Parking in the school is very limited).
